Choosing the Right
Digital Camera for your Pics
There are a lot of digital cameras out there, and it seems they introduce new models every week. Bolinas Road Gallery showcases the best of the best in three categories: point and shoot, mid-size and digital SLR.
Three Types of Digital Cameras
It's not hard to shop for Macs, there are only a few basic flavors and a couple of models and options in each category:
Point-and-Shoot |
Advanced Compact |
Digital SLR |
Canon SD750 |
Canon Powershot A630 |
Nikon D200 |
- The compact point-and-shoot cameras are great for family and event shots. For quick pics, they'll automatically adjust the focus and exposure.
- The compact advanced cameras sit midway between the point-and-shooters and the digital SLRs. These cameras often provide better quality lenses and give you more manual control over focus and exposure.
-
The digital SLRs are for the serious photographer. The great advantage of these cameras is the ability to swap lenses for the shoot at hand. More expensive, you'll find digital SLRs give you lots of control over your images.
